reaper1_3 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Is it possible to weld seat runners to the floor of my rado? Is there any issues with regards to structural strength of the floor plan? Your help would be appreciated cheers
theRuler 0 Posted April 25, 2005 you talking about replacing like for like, or fitting new ones for completely different seats?

theRuler 0 Posted April 25, 2005 so long as they are welded in good, there should be no problem. do it s l o w l y though - bit too much heat, and they'll warp. even a teeny bit will make the seats stiff to move. i am presuming the runners are individual. consider tacking a couple of strips of metal between them, so they are held the correct distance apart throughout the welding process. or even get just a bare seat base of the correct size (same as your tt seat base) and keeping that in the runners while you tack them in, making sure they are bob on.
