reverse lights always on

ive been trying to figue out why my reverse lights stay on whenever my cars running.im sure it freaks people out when they pull up behind me at a stoplight.

i pulled apart the black plastic selector thing on top of the tranny and gave it a good cleaning,that didnt help.im not sure where else to look.

if you unplug the plastic thing, do they switch off? It could simply be that the switch within the plastic thing has broken. They're not expensive new from VAG. 8)

yeah that turns them off,ill have to get the part and try it out

lol.yeah that only happened until i figued out they were stuck on,i unclip the plug if i take her out
