Dodgy rev counter

I have just bought a 2.0 16v rado and the rev counter is playing up is this a common fault and how do I fix it?

Is this when you start the car, when it's idling or when you're cruising at a steady speed? If it's when you're driving, I wouldn't worry about it :-)

Check the coil connections first,

(green wire),it might be the actual

instrument that's faulty,try tapping

the cluster next time it happens,

may also be a dodgy contact on the

back of the cluster.
