ZippyVR6 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Just picked up some Alpine front components to replace the stock ones on my 92 c. from reading the threads I understand that the grills prize off for the tweeters but is it the same for the door pods. Dont want to be making nasty gouges out of the trim. Is it grills off and screws behind grill and door handle?
chrishill 0 Posted May 1, 2005 if its a 92 it'll have the early style doorcards, which the grilles slide off. I expect they're the same as the late ones in that you have to take the doorcards off and mount the speakers from behind, easy job, 30mins per side . there was another thread recently where I explained how you remove the doorcards. ZippyVR6 0 Posted May 2, 2005 aaaargh. are there invisible screws? I undid all i could. the doorcard looked like it was going to cha cha slide off but it really didnt want to. Im worried about snapping it. But I really want rid of those orrible nasty paper speakers. Am I missing something? has anyone got that link to the walkthrough because I cant see it on search. chrishill 0 Posted May 2, 2005 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23226&highlight=doorcards there you go mate, its probably the screw behind the speaker grille thats caught you out.
ZippyVR6 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Cheers for that. Sounding sweet and no change to the interior. Keep em out of view of theiving chavs.
GIXXERUK 0 Posted May 2, 2005 i dont think any vr's come with an early interior theres a screw inside the speaker grill towards the front of the car, catches everyone out

GIXXERUK 0 Posted May 3, 2005 campaigns are a different animal , just saying a 92 doesnt necessarily have an early interior mate

GIXXERUK 0 Posted May 3, 2005 apart from the red brick leathered interior of a campaign ,i've never seen a vr with an early interior (not saying they dont exist) but i havent seen one although a20lee has an early headlight switch in his , unless this was changed along the way ?
