BeavisJem 0 Posted July 6, 2003 There is a corrado i am looking at buying which has a 1 inch dent in the drivers door, from somone who has opened a car door onto it. I was jsut wondering about how much this would cost to put right, the car is a 1992 G60 Black. Cheers BeavisJem
sc16v 0 Posted July 6, 2003 BeavisJem If the dent has not cracked the paint it is possible that a proper dent remover person could get this out for about £50. If it requires painting it should cost about £150+vat. (3.5 hrs lab, 65 P&M) But if the dent is within 12" of the next panel then add another £90 for blending. Of course this is a blind estimate. :D
Blown 0 Posted July 6, 2003 Depends where the dent is. I hace three very noticable dents in the drivers door, done by the same means.(Other people just don't seem to care when they open their doors) I approached the dent repairers at inters and they recommended a bodyshop as two of the dents are in the crease, apparently the strongest part of the door. I have spoken to a couple of bodyshops and they are of the opinion that it would be cheaper to replace the door! The hunt for a second hand door goes on.......

Rams 0 Posted July 7, 2003 You can get the dent done by companies like dent master and panel master who do brand new cars in show rooms that have had dinks etc. I have seen a brand new CL 55 AMG that I imported for a client and he had it for 5 minutes and his wife opened her ML 55 AMG door onto his new car and I just dug a big hole and wanted to die and all he said to his wife was, shall we buy another one joking around! I wish I had that sort of money! Some dent companies will have a look forf you and say wheather they think it will come out, ythey massage the dent out and even knoock the dent in more for them to be able to have a better start at removing the dent. They said to me that the dent I had, I borrowed a friends M3 Cabriolet and my cat was walking along the windo sill out side and knocked my mums candle holder which fell down the wall of the house, over the guttering and bank onto the bonnett and that even scrathed the paint so he said the dent will come out but may not be perfect but you would never have evn know that that dent was there, he even managed to almost remove the scratch. Being in the trade it was £35 and he even found 6 more little dents that we could never see. They use a metal pole that shows the angle of the dent, its very clever and worth giving them a ring.
