porsche 924 turbo's what do we know

there's one for sale near me just advertised as non runner and needs some attention and no price always wanted one and a turbo hmmmmmm!! tempted

I always thought the 944 was a turbo and the 924 was non turbo. Can't be sure although I remember reading it somewhere.

924 turbo's were made from 78-82 and come in two flavours......170bhp series1's and 177bhp series2's..............140mph+ and 0-60 in the seven-second bracket...........however........they are mega dear to fix(purchase cost-expenditure ratio) as the head is actually made by Porsche instead of Audi like the n/a 924's........but they are damn cool IMHO

 

if you want the ultimate 924 then best get £10k+ and go for the 924 carrera GT which is a wide-arched 210bhp limited edition(75 rhd) 924 turbo more or less.....

924 turbo S1 170bhp 2.0 8v turbo......................78-81

924 turbo S2 177bhp 2.0 8v turbo......................81-82

924S 150bhp 2.5 8v normally aspirated..............85-87

924S 160bhp 2.5 8v normally aspirated..............87-88

 

 

944's were

 

944lux 163bhp 2.5 8v normally aspirated............82-88

944Turbo 220bhp 2.5 8v turbo...........................85-88

944Turbo 250bhp 2.5 8v turbo...........................88-93

944S 190bhp 2.5 16v normally aspirated............86-89

944lux 165bhp 2.7 8v normally aspirated...........88-89

944S2 210bhp 3.0 16v normally aspirated..........89-93

 

all official cabrios will be either S2 or very rare 250bhp turbo

lol :D ..........924 begat the 944 :wink: .........so the 924 especially in S form IS a proper porsche :wink: ...........and before you throw in the old chestnut of....."but the 924 has a van engine"...........you'll find it was in the Porsche with more horses a bit before the van actually had it.....so there
