V3DUB 0 Posted May 10, 2005 lo evryone, how easy or difficult is it to remove the rubber frame that is on the top part of the door and runs around the glass, it seems to be lined with metal and mine has lost its shape, can you buy these from the dealer? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 10, 2005 The rubber trim around the door frame is just that, a trim. It peels off nice and easy. First you remove the peg from the bottom of it just above the door lock. Then you lift it off the metal carefully along the B line (it's double taped down) and up and over the top corner of the door and eventually completely off the door. If it's mishaped, it's likely the metal underneath that is mishaped/rusty. Treat any rust ASAP if you see any because it it rots through, you'll need new doors at worst, or some welding at best. You can still buy the rubber frame covers from VW but they're about £90 a side and the passenger side might be obsolete now. I've seen several Corrados with damaged door frames where theives have prized the glass out to steal stereos etc.
