Timo. 0 Posted May 18, 2005 Does G60 and VR6 have the same lambda probe?? Just I have a genuine spare lambda probe for my Dad's G60 and wondered if it was any use on the VR. Cheers T.

h100vw 0 Posted May 18, 2005 There are 4 wires in the plug and 3 into the probe on a G60. Gavin
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted May 18, 2005 VR defo has 4 wires. Or at least mine does: 2xwhite 1xblack 1xgrey from memory and i think the two white wires are for the heater Chris

Chris VR6nos 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Timo., so did it work then, did you try it? Chris
Timo. 0 Posted May 23, 2005 No haven't tried it. No need too! There's nothing wrong with the probe on the VR (I hope). I was just interested, that's all. I do wonder if it would work though. The only difference is in the earth wiring. The vr one has the earth go all the way to the sensor. Where as the g60's earth wire stops at the bracket where the connector is and it used to earth it to the metal bracket that the connector is attached to. T. Chris VR6nos 0 Posted May 23, 2005 Yeah i have a few problems with my heap at the moment, one is possibly the Lambda probe, if not then maybe the wiring to the probe, then there's the alternator, what a chew getting it off and on with the charger in the way etc. Hope to be sorted soon though so i can get the heap down to the meeting at Leeds. Timo. 0 Posted May 23, 2005 When we first got the G60 it had had a new lambda probe installed a few months previously using a fair bit of soldering and black insulating tape. After it started running a bit crap I realised that the probe had been wired up wrong!!! And that was only after I had bought another one already and fitted it. Hence the spare lambda probe.
