Ah yes.. remeber admiring that car at the last Stealth Racing Rolling Road day where its supercharged engine scored rather well on the rollers :)

Good buy mate - it looked in great condition :)

Thanks Bally and Cheesy

That's right, Mark now has a VR6 MkII Golf!

Had a look at it when I was picking up the Corrado, very nice indeed. 8) 8)

Think he's going to be at Inters with it.

I have a Reiger Grille for the front of her, but don't know whether to fit it, quite like having a VR6 badge

The options are:

1/ Keep it standard.

2/ Fit it, paint it red to match the car.

3/ Fit it, paint it red along the spoiler bit and black on the slats.

What do you guys think??

yeah, I'd go option 3 too... although I'd fit the VR6 badge to the grill too for a little bit of difference... ;) 8)

I was tempted by that car a few months ago, but in the end got a standard one. I know it was once pushing out nearly 260bhp wasnt it?

257BHP to be precise SeanoVR. 8)

And by god the car's feelin' it.

The front shocks were fooked. (fitted new Bilstein Sprint shocks all round)

An engine mount's dead (ordered all new ones from Turn2)

And I think I've a dodgy wheel bearing.

That extra power had a negative effect on the running gear.

Still, you can't expect to buy a 9 year old motor and not spend a bit of money on tidying it up.

I can only imagine what it went like with the Supercharger on.

Must have been well scarey!

Its looking very well Mike.

I'd go for option 3, as well.

P.S. we should arrange a N Ireland forum meeting, maybe towards the end of the Month?

Thanks for the compliment GIXXERUK

Red's a bit of a nightmare to keep though.

Takes loads of polishing to keep it from fading

Dan A few friends and I are arranging a Rolling Road day for the Saturady 28th August.

It would be nice to have another VR there to compare stats with 8)

Here's a wee Corrado that had fallen on hard times.

I nursed it back to health and found a happy home for it.

Here's a few of my latest purchase.

I've been using it as a daily driver while the VR6 has been getting some work done ;)

VR6 will be coming out of hibernation soon though and this will be for sale.

It's a '96 Golf GTI Anniversary

Want these wheels for my Corrado but couldn't possibly destroy the factory spec of this wee car.[:(!]

too hot

The beauty of VW Flash Red is no two panels are ever the same colour. :)

Hence the photos taken near dusk to make it look nice. :)

A good going over with Swissol or McGuires usually restores it for a few weeks though.

As for the work, all fairly mundane. Swapped the Magnatec Oil for Quantum Syntha Silver (much quieter), fitted a new master cylinder and alternator and fitted new exhaust rubbers. Funny how things happen in 3's especially when Christmas was approaching.

Pic of Smoked In-Pros below. I've had loads of nice comments about them at the local Club GTI meets. 8)

Flash Red had a terminal problem with its ABS. Numerous sensors, 2 pumps, a new loom and 3 ECU's and it still wasn't working! No MOT no value :( Headgasket was gone too and compression down on cylinder 1.

So she's gone to a mechanic friend of mine who will convert her to 20vt and get her resprayed.

Picked a Mystic Blue Storm up at the weekend. Formerly belonged to Rick here on the forum. Unforunately the owner between me and him had neglected her a bit. Got some engine gremlins to sort out. Here's a few quick pics...

Make her pretty again :thumb right:

Will do Rick. Once I get her running right.

A set of 16" BBS or RH rims and a full Miltech system with oval pipe will be next on the list.

Suspension is still good. Was it 2008 when it was fitted?

Roughly around then, you should have it somewhere in that massive collection of receipts I kept for it.

Look forward to seeing it with wheels and exhaust.
