ANDREW 30 0 Posted January 3, 2011 Sorry got your name mixed up from part reading a post! No i was'nt after your spare box, i've got a Jetex 3 boxed system myself and when I get my charger fitted and mapped I was thinking it would all breath/flow a lot better with the 2 boxed system as i've heard the 3 boxed can be a bit restrictive. I was going to ask if you could let me know how much the pipe work costs when you get sorted.
KipVR 1 Posted January 3, 2011 Sorry pal, jumped to conclusions! I'll let you know!
coullstar 0 Posted January 3, 2011 I dont think the box's are restrictive, its more the bore. I added a 17in long centre silencer to my car but didnt notice any difference in power so I dont think it will make much difference. Ive only removed it as its too big in OD and has caused the downpipe to hit the steering rack.
KipVR 1 Posted January 3, 2011 +1 They don't look that restrictive. I'm only thinking of removing one to make it a little more throaty, it's super quiet with the two CAT's on atm!
coullstar 0 Posted January 3, 2011 My 24v only had a single cat, 2.5in Techtonics and two silencers and sounded perfect. Just the right amount of noise without being obtrusive.

G11 OWL 0 Posted May 3, 2011 Quick question? Would it be worth replacing the manifold / downpipes and does anybody know of companies producing them? What are peoples experiences and whay should I go for? Car is a VR6. Thanks.
Critical_Mass 10 Posted May 3, 2011 You can get 6 branch manifolds to replace the existing manifolds and downpipes. Supersprint make them and they're really expensive. Raceland do a version, which is pretty good quality. Can pick them up fairly cheap. It wont add much in regards to power, slight improvement on throttle response, but not much more. Needs wrapping in heat wrap if you're going to fit one imo.

dannyboy 0 Posted September 22, 2011 Just fitted a 3 box Jetex exhaust last night on my G60 as it'll also be used when i convert engine to 1.8t as its 63.5 mm system. The top end is much less restricted as it freely revs up to the redline without beening held back. The midrange feels a little flatter now prob due to the top end been freed up were i was losing power. It was very quiet last night when i ran it up for the first time, even quieter than my original diesel sounding exhaust. Just after giving the car a shakedown on the autobahn a few minutes ago and the exhaust note has changed to slight boomy sound when on idle, not loud-just louder than original. Not intursive in the cabin, barely audible inside but deffo deeper than yesterday. Im presumming this is normal as the absortion material is probably setting in now but have you guys ever noticed it?
iamsilverfox 10 Posted October 18, 2011 alright guys. i'm after a complete stainless system for my '90 1.8 valver. can anyone recommend somewhere in the midlands?
m4ttj4mes 10 Posted December 6, 2011 just seen this from supersprint and was wondering whether anyone had fitted this to their 1.8 16v? looks like it would be epically loud which is not really what i was after but i just found out jetex are apparantly out of stock and are not getting anymore until the new year, i think mine might fall off before then! its not stainless so i wonder what the quality/longtivity of it would be? also it doesnt mention bore size - can anyone shed some light on this product? cheers! http://www.aktivperformanceparts.co.uk/corrado/supersprint-vw-corrado-performance-exhaust-18i-16v-2127322-399221-.php
sharpy-vr6 10 Posted March 6, 2012 Hi im thinking about the jetex 3 box system on my vr6. ive had a bit of a read through this thread but theres alot to read. Just wondering if people recoomend this system ive heard it sounds fairly oem? is this true, as i dont want anything loud just maybe slightly deeper tone on idle. ive seen one video on youtube and it seems like a nice sound just wondering if anyone elese had some sound clips, or any information on the system or any other systems for that matter Thanks sam
dannyboy 0 Posted March 7, 2012 Don't know about VR6 one but g60 one is only very slightly louder on idle to mid range than oem.top end is a few DB louder were it should be.I'm getting bit older so loud exhausts for me is no-no,everyone has their tastes but the jetex 3 box system is as OEM level as u can get so its perfect for me
gavkt 0 Posted March 7, 2012 Can anyone recommend someone to fit and supply a stainless steel exhaust for my vr6, in or around Oxford? I have tried to read this Sticky and come to a conclusion as to which is the best make or brand, but have found that quite tricky. So I just need someone nearby, who will do the job properly! Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks my recomendation would be buy a milltek catback system from awesome and then get it booked in at your nearest garage job done!, milltek sounds amazing! and its not to loud or chavvy either, http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=11756&xSec=87 { its just an exhaust , any garage will be able to fit it to a good standard, its nothing new}
gavkt 0 Posted March 9, 2012 I'd thought of that, except I wasn't sure how specialist fitting it would be. But if it's that straight forward then That works for me! Milltek is deffo the way to go. But confused, found these, but can't work out which I need. I have a 92 K reg? http://www.a1-motorstores.com/Volkswagen-Corrado-Corrado-Vr6-Oval-92-On-Milltek-High/cat/9/sub/196/product/3358/veh/419 Or http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?partno=MILLTEKCORRe Your recommendation seems to be pre 92? And cheaper!!

VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted March 10, 2012 those pics are just generic photos of random milltek exhausts so dont take any notice of the photo, im prety certain milltek only make one exhaust for the corrado, just click the link i posted for awesome gti's site and get the part number, its just a typo mistake because as far as im aware the vr6 wasnt around pre 92, for the record that exhaust from awesome is a perfect fit on my vr and at the time it was the best £400.00 i ever spent on my car, completly changed how it sounded and felt alot smoother, also the throttle response tightened up loads, so it felt like driveing a completley different car, you wont regret it bud
dannyboy 0 Posted March 10, 2012 Well i have just recieved my system in the post so i shall update you to how it sound and looks and goes together over the next few days :) It sounds a bit weird but the first day or two its quieter than OEM,then it will get a bit louder once the material inside has settled.just something I noticed when I fitted my jetex system. But the noise level is nowhere near as loud as other systems until u hit high rpms. Enjoy your new exhaust mate :-)
gavkt 0 Posted March 11, 2012 Thanks mate! I'm convinced, just what I wanted to hear! Will get it ordered now, thanks!

VeenixTwin 10 Posted April 11, 2012 Fitted my cat back, Dubpower system this afternoon!  Really pleaseresd with the fit and sound. Sounds stock when normal driving and idle. If so, Hows it performing/lasting??
Redfox 10 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) A quick question for the Jetex/Simons exhaust owners: What did you do to raise the rear of the final silencer a bit, so it does not hang so low? And did that help avoiding the clanging on the rear axle? My car is a M-chassis 1991 G60 born with a longer cat. also, did you notice the rear silencer tip getting hot? The standard factory does not (or at least less hot). Cheers, Redfox. Edited May 12, 2012 by Redfox
