AKA-Andrew 0 Posted June 9, 2005 I have got my install sorted now equipment wise, now need the wiring sorted out. I have: 1 x Alpine MRV T500, 2 x 50 wRMS @ 4 ohm powering 1 x Set of Infinity 6500cs components (90wRMS@4ohm) And 1 x Alpine MRV T1000, 2 x 100 100 wRMS @ 4 ohm or 1 x 400 wRMS @ 4 ohm powering 2 x Kenwood Tornado Subs (150wRMS@4ohm) Is 4awg suitable for this application, also I may add another set of components and amp of the same spec, would 4awg stil be suitable then. I was also thinking of using 12awg speaker cable, i'm guessing that this is fine.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 9, 2005 4 AWG is plenty for that spec. If you want to future proof it, run a length of 2 guage up to the boot and split it off from there.
AKA-Andrew 0 Posted June 9, 2005 0 awg is going to far then?? found this kit that was going to use if 4awg was too small: http://www.cablesexpress.co.uk/shop/pro ... ucts_id=
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 10, 2005 0 is fine if you're pumping 1000s of watts into subs.....otherwise 2 or 4 guage is plenty.
