better off with throttle bodies if you can afford them i converted a 2ltr 16v golf to this set up with a badger 5 throttle body kit,, its just been featured in the golf mag,, on the 16v group thrash at bruntingthorpe,,

your going to be looking at approx £2500 if you fit it yourself realistically, for a fully mappable ignition and fuelling set up, it is quite allot of money, but the difference is this will be the same everytime you start the car and you can get it mapped perfectly to your engine whereas with the carbs you wont have such constant performance everytime you start up, also with throttle bodies the mpg would be better than carbs,,

you can get the same sort of peak power with k jet,

its just resposiveness and gain throughout the rev range you get with ITB`s,

the car we put throttle bodies on produces 199.7 bhp on stealths rollers,

but this is with all the other mods done aswell,

flowed head shrick 268/276 cams 4 branch maniufold, 2.5 inch exhaust, you really need the whole package for this set up to work, think of throttle bodies as the icing on the cake of all your other mods,,

just simply bolting a set on will not neccesarily give you gains unless all the other relavant parts are in place,,
