welton 0 Posted July 17, 2003 Hello all, I have standard '94 VR6 - 86,000 miles never had a real problem until last night...... Was driving along when engine cut out - restarted ok be idle was going mad - revving up to 2500 then chugging down to 350 then up and down all over the place. If I tried to drive it wouldn't go past 2000rpm. This was like it for 20 mins then I limped up the road at about 10mph and after 5 mins of driving like this it cleared!!!! Any idea's please??? G60Dan 0 Posted July 17, 2003 Might not be a management problem your looking for, could be simple as fuel filter needs changing or something similar, The management might have gone in to some sort of safe mode to stop it blowing it's self to pieces. Try to think of the cheaper problems it could be before you start reaching for the credit card. How old are plugs/lead etc? Has is done this again since? I got some dodgy fuel and my rado would idle, but any accelerating caused it to drag like the engine mounts were shagged, then it would cut out at 1500 revs. full strip, clean/replacement of the fuel lines, tank and filters sorted it (at the cost of the garage where I filled up) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
welton 0 Posted July 17, 2003 Cheers for the tips - fuel filter sounds likely - I'll change it I reckon. Although I had just filled up with super unleded from Texaco in Wimborne. I have had my VR for 1 year now, I am always around town - bournemouth. Do you know Rob Swan, he drives a BMW M3 EVO , in estoril Blue, silver leather and 19inch Crome rims?
