Sunroof....

Recommended Posts

Hi, okay I finally got round to replacing the broken cable guides on my sunroof, and the pos still dont work right  It tilts up and down great, slides back fine, but when it comes to sliding back forward, one side tries to tilt up, and I cant really see why :?

Any ideas?

Cheers

Ryan

Did you make sure you aligned the cables properly, reset the motor and align the roof to spec?

-1mm below roofline at the rear of the roof, -0.5mm at the front.

The cables need to be *exactly* parallel to the mm and the motor needs to shut off on tilt mode *before* the cable guides run out of travel and hit the ends of the waterplate guides.

Try the search, it's been discussed numerous times...

it doesn't really sound like a sync problem to me if the 2 sides try to do different things - i'd be checking if nothing else was broken to be honest. with regard to synching, you can sync in any position - ie. wind sunroof to open manually and then run the motor to open while its detached, or wind sunroof ro tilt and the run motor to tile while detached.

in any situation, you wouldn't get both sides doing different things unless theres something else broken or oyou've put it back together wrong :(

Thanks for the replies, it seems to be the runner the chrome rocker slides on is worn, and the pin is sitting too high up, worked better when I bent it down a bit, then it snapped when I bent it down some more

Well if one side is half way along the water plate guide and the other wasn't, it would do different things, which is what I was trying to get at, but he's found the cause now anyway.
