Factory Fit Alarm Fob Dead

Recommended Posts

I have a factory fit alarm, or at least a VW branded alarm. One of the fobs started failing which I thought was battery as distance made a difference however the light always worked on the fob when the button was pressed. It one day just stopped on me, no warning (fortunatly I was at home), the light was still showing but it didn't deactivate the alarm.

I put a new battery in but it still doesn't work. My spare fob is fine. Any ideas how this can be fixed? worried that I am down to one fob and the VW alarm doesn't allow key deactivation :-(

Thanks.

paddyg, have you tried standing by the car and holding down the deactivate/activate button ? (i know on the older laserlines you had to do this until the green led dimmed )

GIXXERUK, Yeah I've tried this alright, holding 1 button, holding both buttons, and nothing seems to work. Stumped...
