B5UBA 0 Posted July 22, 2003 hi corrado team, on me 1.8 16v i want to know what the coolant temp should be running at, mine runs just below 110....when its around there the car dont feel comfortable. can anybody help
vr6storm 0 Posted July 22, 2003 does sound a bit high right enough......though to be honest the guages aren't exactly totally accurate.....mine indicates 100+ deg C when it is in fact only 92-ish...........as long as the fans come on you should be ok but i would get it checked out by a garage for "peace of mind"
Scott 0 Posted July 22, 2003 Thats fine for a 1.8 16V although would check on a few things to be sure: - Check that the one way valve fitted at bulkhead on coolant pipes (two of them go into bulkhead and connect to exchanger) has not packed up... - Check anti - freeze is right amount (50/50) - Check fans come on like Roddy says.... - Check thermostat is working ok - Try back flushing the rad But I do remember in summer mine used to stick at around 105degC - came down in winter... If you have made the above checks then you have nothing to worry about as the guage is not accurate - what is more important is that the light doesnt come on the dashboard *:) Scott

G60 0 Posted July 23, 2003 light will flash if the level is too high or too low.
