Its hot in here ???

Recommended Posts

alrighty peeps

my 1990 16v seems to be pretty hot inside all the time with warm air gushing out out of the blowers no matter what the outside temperature or how long ive been driving. The temperature gauge doesnt seem to be too hot and the oil temp seems to stick to around 95.

Are Corrados all like that as i do appreciate that it is a sports car or is it likely to be something wrong?

any thoughts?

cheers

brett

You need to take out the driver's side underdash and check the hot/cold lever is working the lever on the airbox behind the centre dash area. Three lever controls go from the dash to the air controls inside the bottom area of the centre dash. Sounds like a cable end has come off.

You should be able to feel if there's resistance or not without even looking I'd say.

I rarely feel cold air through the vents either and my heater controls are working fine; it's variable between the limits of warm and burning hot. In summary I think it's just a fairly naff system.

Mine's like bcstudent's too. A good way of getting some air to circulate at speed is to have the sunroof tilted and the fan on 2 into the footwells. This way air is sucked out of the car via the roof and coolish air is drawn over the driver from the footwell. It's not great but it's better than having the windows open at 80mph and not being able to hear anything!! It also works in the rain without you getting wet
