ht leads question

my leads are due for replace,ment ,but the ones fitted to the car one of the leads closest the battery has a lead atta\ced to the lead then it goes to the engine somehwere ,does this make sense ??

lol

any way the new lead i bought havent got this ,i think its called pick up lead ,does it need this .

ps car is

1993 2.0 16v

Yep, you need it mate - it basically does the job of a hall sender and sends a signal to the ECU...

 

Does it look like it will come off the old lead??

not sure as ive given them to the garage ,whos gona look at them on monday,stupid euro car parts .

Is that the correct name pick up lead ?

Just incase i need to rder another set

You can actually just unscrew the end of the plug lead and slide off the ring sender, then unscrew the end of the new lead and slide it on, then screw the end of the lead back on... Just done this to Laura's, so can confirm this is correct... BTW, it should go on the lead for No.1 cylinder...
