Removing door handle - pls help

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Sounds stupid but I cant get my old door handle out - I have removed the

screw from the inside of the door but I cant get the front out.

I did my old '90 G60 and from memory there was no other screws, Should it just clip out ?

passenger handle - '94 vr6

Thanks

it should just slide forwards a few mm then the back (lock end) should come out of the bodywork allowing you to get the front out.

- edit -

dont forget to disconnect the cable! maybe its a bit short and isnt allowing the handle the freedom of movement it needs?

Yep the lock end is out, cable disconnected but I cannot pull the front bit out - I have pulled it really hard so much that the door is bending with it

Reckon it is a cheapie handle and a bad fit

Brute force it is.....

if you have the back completely out try rotating it by 90 degrees and it should come out.

as far as i know nobody makes "cheapy" handles for them so it should be a normal one

Thanks for all ur help lads

The cable had been screwed to part of the window frame so the lock part of the handle came out a few cm but not quite enough to let the other end out.

Looks like a cowboy fitted the window eh!!!!!

All sorted now tho
