OK VR6 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Im thinking of supercahrgering my VR6 (VF Engineering) and chiping the best. it is better to chip the car after the supercharger (after a few months) has been installed. I have been told that placing the chip before the supercharger will give be 30-40 bhp less then if i supercharger the car and after a few months place the chip (as i cant afford to do both at the same time. I hope this makes sense.
sciroccotune 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I would imagine that after charging the car would require an ecu remap to cope with the charger correctly, prevent leaning out etc..
OK VR6 0 Posted August 18, 2005 shall i chip the car first then scharge the car after a few months does it make a differnce. a chip is inevitable.
randal 0 Posted August 18, 2005 As far as I can tell from reading the Supercharged VR6 thread, there's a little bit more to it than just sticking a charger on and getting a chip. IIRC, Kev had to run an oil line up from the sump, get new injectors, then get a re-map so everything behaved itself. Well worth dropping him or Nosky/ChrisVR6NOS/VR6TractorwithNOS/etc.. a PM, or voicing your questions in that thread. HTH, looks like the s'charged VR6 is becoming a very popular upgrade :D
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted August 18, 2005 There's a whole thread on Supercharging VR6s..... please add to this rather than starting a new one. Use the Search!!
