problem with remote central locking

Recommended Posts

I have had the above alarm fitted to my VR for the past two years and all has been fine until it recently stopped activating central locking and full closure.

It actually arms the alarm and disarms but does not activate central locking, flash the hazard lights on arming/disarming and does not operate full closure.

Using the key to operate the CL and full closure does work though.

Obviously I would rather not operate these separately, and I don't really know where to look to establish whether the problem lies with the car's central locking system or a function on the toad alarm.

Ideas anyone? :?:

I think you may find the fuses for the locking may have blown.

Before taking it back to where you had it fitted though. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the car battery.

Hi Gavin

Thanks mate - any idea which numbers those fuses are on the VR?

isn't it wierd that the car central locks and full closures when you turn and hold the key in the door, though?

Will do a battery check now!

Thanks :)

Nick

The fuses for the locking on the alarm are the ones I am talking about Nick, sorry for not qualifying the statement. If you have no idea where they are then I would advise that you go back to your alarm fitters.

no probs - couldnt locate the alarm fuses, but I did disconnect and reconnect the battery and that didn't fix it unfortunately.

Do you reckon it could be a faulty C/L pump/control unit? ETKA part no 357962257

Sorry Nick, I think I am missing something. Does the CL work off the key? If yes then alarm issue, if no then it could be the pump. The closure is a seperate thing.
