24V Renshaw 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Just wanted to let you all know that I am in the process of changing jobs. My current job finishes at the end of Sept and I won't commence my next one until end of October... To save me from boredom and to stop the funds running dry, I was wondering whether anyone needs any work doing on their car, or even a conversion/install of something a bit different.... I am up for offers of work - a cheaper and trustworthy alternative to getting it done at the garage. :) Get in touch if you think I could help you. I will be based in York but would be happy to travel further afield. Jay

Supercharged 2 Posted September 18, 2005 What about air con onto my 1.9 PD TDI (need to source the parts tho!)
NickVR6 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Stealth do a recon head and clutch fopr £650 fixed price, or as you said about £1300 with the chains as well. Little point in doing one without the other anyway though.
Ronan 0 Posted September 18, 2005 I need loads of work done. However, a) I can't afford it and b) I live in Devon!!
24V Renshaw 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Supercharged, if you can get the parts I can convert it over. Jay
Furkz 0 Posted September 18, 2005 jay sack ya job off and open up a unit  or get a small unit for evenings and weekends
Supercharged 2 Posted September 18, 2005 Hmmm... I need quite a bit from looking under Jims bonnet today! Might make some enquiries tho but most TDi engines will be sold as a unit I would think and not broken... What would I need to drive it with at the front end considering I have a standard early dash (no A/C originally)
24V Renshaw 0 Posted September 18, 2005 You would need the later style dash in order to mount the climate control panel, you would also need a MK4 climate control heater matrix and pipework, compressor, drier and condensor (radiator), pluss as much wiring, fuses, sensors etc.. as possible. 24V Renshaw 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Furki, I would love to do that mate, the problem is funds. Even a cheap unit for evenings and weekends is damn expensive. I guess the problem is the guarantee of work.... How many engine swaps, dash conversions, climate control installs etc.. do people need.... :) Jay
Supercharged 2 Posted September 18, 2005 *wonders if work would notice if the TDi Estate got a downgrade...*
