samm_cvr6 0 Posted October 2, 2005 Can't really work this one out, and wanted to know where I should take it for diagnostics? I live in Kent. The car is idling a bit lumpy and often sutters when accelerating.. Things I have thought it could be are.. 1) Crank sensor 2) ECU 3)Lambda probe anyone shed any light? cheers guys. Sam :? Supercharged 2 Posted October 2, 2005 LOL, no probs - not sure about the acceleration... I'd say the MAF was the most likely candidate but as you say you really need to get it on VAGCOM to see if there are any fault codes... Could also be ignition related - leads or coilpack (if its a late VR) A quick test for the above would be to spray a mist of water at night over the ignition components with the engine running and see if you see any sparks (arcing) - this may show up a faulty lead. samm_cvr6 0 Posted October 2, 2005 don't think it's the ignition really, it's more an intermittent thing as you accelerate, particularly at low revs, 2nd gear is usually ok and it is as quick as ever. It seems to be more notieable in 3/4th gear. So now I am thinking it is a)MAF B)Crank sensor c)ISV d)ECU e)somewhere along the ignition I'm going to take it in to VW this saturday and see what VAGCOM comes up with........
