craigowl 0 Posted October 15, 2005 For anyone interested I went into my local VW dealer at Grangemouth yesterday re title of this post. They are called "Central Volkswagen" and have just taken over from "Western Grangemouth VW". 1 - Front VR6 badge (silver) no longer available (from Oct 2004 I think) 2 - Ordered 4 BBS centre caps (part no 1H060171BBXF) for Solitudes. They should be in on Tuesday at £34.96, including VAT and 10% discount for CCGB card. Good on new parts manager to agree to discount as Paul, my previous contact, has moved up in the world to Mercedes along the road! Had Soliturds refurbed (£205 at Wheel Services, Plains near Airdrie) so original 10.5 year-old centre caps, which were going a bit blurry, have to go. mr.ots 10 Posted October 15, 2005 My BBS centre caps were looking tired too. I've put new VW ones on at the moment and I quite like them. Some Storms came with the BBS caps and some with VW. All of the promotional pics I've seen of the storm had the VW ones fitted. RW1 0 Posted October 15, 2005 Some Storms came with the BBS caps and some with VW. They were all BBS initially but these caps and the VW ones don't last. Some dealers changed tham over cos they were shinier to sell the cars when new! Even the VW advertising changed the caps for the photos taken at the time of the Blue Storm poster & Sales Brochure. Also notice what's in the wheel spoke of the Storm advert photo. That version of solitude does exist, not a photoshop job but is very rare and was associated with the Mk3 Golf a year earlier than the Storms. . Still got my original BBS caps packed away. .
