Henny 0 Posted October 22, 2005 take off the wiper arm... turn it over and bend it at the hinge like if you were lifting the blade off the windscreen. Have a look inside the bottom of the arm and you'll see a lump on the mounting which hits the arm stopping it from springing back (normally towards the windscreen) after a certain distance... grind that down a bit and you'll allow the blade to be pulled a bit more than it currently is... This mod works on some cars, but has no effect on others... it's the spring that tends to go weak which is causing the problem of crap wipers on most corrados now... the only cure for which is new arms, be they lupo or standard, which will have fresh springs in them to increase the force put onto the arms and thus onto the windscreen by the blades... 8)
Yandards 0 Posted October 22, 2005 OK here are the part numbers for the new wiper arms: Right wiper arm (Should be drivers side) 536 955 410A at £29.61 inc VAT Left wiper arm from Sep '91 536 955 409B at £28.99 inc VAT Left wiper arm up to Sep '91 536 955 409A at £25.29 inc VAT Makes the lupo conversion quite cheap when you consider that just pays for some new arms! I find that a good set of blades (Bosch) and a spoiler on each one makes a difference to the performance of the wipers.
