how much to change timing belt??

i need to get my timing belt and tensioner changed, i have the parts but not going to try it myself this time. Anyway how much would you expect to pay at a decent non vw garage?? been quoted about 150 euros sound right??.

It depends on whether you trust the person that's gonna do it over there really, 150 Euros sounds ok if you're gonna get your car back in one piece. Who is it thats gonna do it?..the German fella?

yeah ... but he's got beady little eyes!!!! serious he's a fresky lookin bastard

reckons a furth 120 to change the gear oil and brake fluid???. Reckon i could do that myself but really dont want to screw nothing up this side of christmas (or ever really) .

Get him to do the cam belt, but don't pay in kind if he's not a looker :wink:

 

Why do you need to do the gear and brake fluid?...

well the gear oil probally needs topping up

he reckons should be changed on 120.000 kms

and the brake fluid was his suggestion for squeeky brakes !!!???

i put the new disks and pads off the old g60 on and there squeeking bad , i just asked him to check em .

Took me about 3 hours (divided over several days) changing all 3 belts (cam, drive and polyribbed) and the cambelt tensioner on my G60 at a very very casual pace :lol: So, someone who does this for a living should be able to do that in less than 2 hours, I reckon.
