VR6 0 Posted November 24, 2005 Moving to Suppliers forum. Probably best finding a specialist near to you. Depends where you are but G-Werks are some of the best (down on the south coast or thereabouts).
easygeezer 0 Posted November 24, 2005 I was hoping someone done a seal and bearing kit so I could do the job myself, looking at G-werks site they do the rebuild too
easygeezer 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Ended up with full rebuild kit from Bar-tek motorsport, highly recommended..
catch_twotwo 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Ended up with full rebuild kit from Bar-tek motorsport, highly recommended.. Well hope it works out for you. Having seen Darren at G-Werks strip and rebuild mine from start to finish, I'm happy to leave it to the professionals. The last thing I'd want it the charger going at speed and taking out half my engine at the same time.
catch_twotwo 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Yes.. I remember good use of the heat gun.. It's rewarding to hear it purring once you've rebuilt it I'm sure. But did you get a free G-werks sticker, I think not ;)
easygeezer 0 Posted December 9, 2005 If Ive missed out on a sticker I feel a complaint coming on :-)
dinkus 10 Posted December 9, 2005 easygeezer, are you near Cambridge then? There's a (highly regarded) company called Barr Tech there as well, I was just wondering if they were one and the same.

bix 0 Posted December 10, 2005 I must admit if I done it again I personally would take it to someone too, it is not as easy as a lot of the web sites make etc, I thought I would be done in an hour, 2 hours later of trying to get bearings out that are supposedly meant to fall out with a little heat on casing etc etc I gave in or rather the Mrs made me stop as I was reaching for the hammer. Fortunately I have an engineering friend who done it and it still took 3 hours to do it properly. But I'm sure if you are capable it is rewarding to do it yourself :-) Fairly good bang on a bit of wood, after being in the oven for 10 minutes and they do just fall out ;)
