Fog lights keep blowing

Recommended Posts

Mate of mine with an M plate Storm is having probs with his fogs.

As soon as he turns the lights on, his fogs (front & rear) keep blowing. He has changed the fuses and it keeps happening.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

I'm assuming it's the fuse that keeps blowing ?

Sounds like a problem with the wiring - possibly going to earth somewhere. Has the front bumper been removed recently - wiring may have been trapped. If not, check the terminals on the back of the front fog bulb holders - wires may be shorting out.

I assume he's using the correct size fuse ?

Simple switch/wire/bulb/earth circuit.

Check bulbs for short. As Steve has said, trapped wire. What was fiddled with before if started. If nothing - bulbs.

Simple answer is not to use the fogs, nearly every time I turn mine on if only for a minute or so the glass lens seems to crack shortly after.

Seems to be one of the Corrado's Achiles heels :thumb right:

Just keep my fingers crossed we don't get much fog.
