forcefed_vw 0 Posted August 17, 2003 The Head is being fitted at the moment. I'm getting fed up with walking to the shops now so I want it back quick. The friend who is doing the work is pretty useful with a die-grinder so he is going to match the inlet and exhaust manifolds to the gas-flowed head. Majik 0 Posted August 17, 2003 Hi Richard and welcome. I've seen your name in the Yahoogroups so i assumed you'd already be on this forum. Nice spec list, how long have you had the car for?
forcefed_vw 0 Posted August 17, 2003 I have had the car for nearly 3 years now
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted August 17, 2003 Oh, I've just remembered - In the Rabbit article it says you put the new intercooler in the area where the radiator goes. I'm just curious, you dont have a radiator?? :? I love the way your car looks standard, the suspenion drop looks great with the standard wheels, a real sleeper :D
forcefed_vw 0 Posted August 18, 2003 No, of course it has a radiator. The intercooler is fitted in front of the radiator which has been slightly repositioned to make space for it.
forcefed_vw 0 Posted December 2, 2003 I have just added a few pictures of my motor, and some of my intercooler, for those that are interested.
dubbprince 0 Posted December 3, 2003 oh dear...thats is the NICEST engine bay i've seen...fantastic car mate. Keep up the work and hang on to this one...3yrs isn't enough to drool over it.
Bally 0 Posted December 3, 2003 Hey Richard, car looks great, would love to see it in the flesh oneday :D anymore pics of the car? rear lamps etc? how much is it lowered BTW!
Danger Mouse 0 Posted December 3, 2003 Hey mate Nice looking car. Just out of curiosity, what bhp do u expect out of it...... ......or would u rather unleash hell at a rolling road day DM
forcefed_vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 I really don't know how much power it makes, I have only dyno tested it once, before the CAt was removed and the Intercooler was added. Since then the Supersprint exhaust has gone on and the Charger has been flowed a bit more. I must get it remapped one day as it it still using the same mapping as it was when it just had a 68mm pulley. AMD next year maybe for a Rolling Road day? Fat Tony 0 Posted December 6, 2003 Hey Richard I think that is the best looking G60 engine bay I have seen. Two quick questions if you don’t mind what is the black box next to the coolant reservoir? Alarm, ABS? looks like a vag part hence the question. Also what is the blue cable going over the throttle body? Oh and a third how do you keep it soooo clean even the block looks spotless? Very nice mota a really stealth model cheers
forcefed_vw 0 Posted December 6, 2003 The black box next to the header tank is for the two stage cooling fan, the blue pipe is for a rather hastily installed boost pressure guage. The car is an almost daily driver, but once the engine has been made clean it isn't hard to keep it like it. I use "kitchen power" cleaner on the gearbox, engine etc work it with a paint brush and hose it off. In the winter I cover it all in WD40 or silicone spray and wash it all off again in the spring. Autosol and elbow-grease occasionally.
morpheus20170 0 Posted December 11, 2003 Very nice matey, couldn't find those photos of the engine bay though as G-Man said about, I'm curious now. Please post on the site. One day G-Man, I'll have mine like that :0)
forcefed_vw 0 Posted December 11, 2003 I think you have to login to see them, they are right at the top under the list of modifications.
