**Ian** 0 Posted December 4, 2005 I have just bought Turbocorrados G60 conversion, it still has the 16v engine wiring loom in place, I have the full G60 loom in the boot. will i need to change the engine wiring loom completely for the G60 loom or just bits of it? Also the fuel lines are not connected and look like the standard 16v ones, If i need to re-loom the engine bay is it best to take the engine out and start from scratch :? any help on this would be great :)
funky 0 Posted December 4, 2005 the 16 v loom unplugs from the fuse box and then just plug in the g60 loom
**Ian** 0 Posted December 4, 2005 I pressume that it would be a lot easier with the engine out :? What about the fuel lines how do they differ from 16v to G60? :)
kevin 0 Posted December 5, 2005 I pressume that it would be a lot easier with the engine out :? What about the fuel lines how do they differ from 16v to G60? :) no mate you dont need to take the engine back out !!just remove the brake hydraulics off the bulk head to feed the g60 loom into the car."servo and master"you will then see the hole where the loom enters the cockpit. its basicly plug and play from there on in but you do need to alter some of the loom to make it work correctly assuming that you have g60 clocks??? as for the fuel lines these are straight forward.you will just need about half a meter of proper fuel hose ,from any autofactor or hose specialist cost about £1.50. i have a document i can send you explaining what you need to do to the loom. if you would like a copy of the document let me know and i will send it to you,i have done two of these converions and this help no end. regards kevin
**Ian** 0 Posted December 5, 2005 cheers kevin, i am not sure about the clocks :? what is the difference between them :?:
kevin 0 Posted December 5, 2005 cheers kevin, i am not sure about the clocks :? what is the difference between them :?: to get everything to work correctly you need them ,but you can run it on the anoulogue clocks,if the car has the later style clocks in ie" two lcd readouts" they will work fine exept for the boost gauge.if it has the early clocks "one read out" quite a few things wont work correctly. g60 clocks are specific to a g60 so to behonest you would be better of getting them as it makes things a lot easier.what is the red line on the clocks you have ? as the g60 ones are lower than valvers. as for the document i have mailed it off to you. good luck regards kevin
**Ian** 0 Posted December 6, 2005 I have just had a look at my clocks and the rev-counter goes to 7000, on my 16v it goes to 8000, cheers for the document :)
**Ian** 0 Posted December 7, 2005 I have now removed the master cylinder and servo off. There are 2 looms going into the car, do i need to remove both of them :?: I have 5 sections of loom in the boot :? I know that one section is for the ECU (as it has a hall sensor plug) but am not sure on the other ones :?
**Ian** 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Can anyone help?? I need to know before I remove all the loom in the morning(I dont want to remove both engine bay looms if i dont have to)
Rustynuts 0 Posted December 7, 2005 If i remember correctly the engine loom i seperate to the loom for the lights and other ancilliaries. So just remove the wiring to the engine and replace it with the G60 spec one
