Stan 24v 0 Posted December 4, 2005 Anyone got any pics (and maybe sizes) of all the bulbs in the dash behind the clocks, and the floodlights? Im trying to get a deal sorted for a cheap package on these, but as my car is in the garage, cant take any pics. may also be able to add the standard 3mm leds for the switches to the package as well

GIXXERUK 0 Posted December 13, 2005 you can get the leds from ebay or ultraleds or maplins for the switches take a look here rixy, http://www.oichan.org/mods/lcd/lcd2.htm
Stan 24v 0 Posted December 13, 2005 Im trying to get a deal with http://www.ultraleds.co.uk so hold your horses if you can ;)
Stan 24v 0 Posted December 13, 2005 Apparently the top LEds for the clocks can be bought, but the bottom ones need soldering yourself, if you want to change them. Personally Ive kept the bulbs and just put different film over the mfa clocks. So if I ask for the top 3, and then 25 3mm 12v LEDs for the dash, and see what package he'll do, then if you need more 3mm LEDs you can just order more. Seem ok to you lot? Oh, would you also like some LED bulbs for the interior lights ie main light on roof when door opens? Give me any suggestions, and preferably the type or part number of the bulbs you want to replace, and I'll see what they'll do for us.
rixy 0 Posted December 15, 2005 yeah, i'd like all the bulbs for all the switches if poss, would be cool!
trev-b 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Supercharged, What size and type are the bulbs from the top of the display? also are the mfa etc ones the same?
ZippyVR6 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Ive been looking into buying a pack to do this to mine, but have held off because people seem to be saying that the blue isnt bright enough. Is there a sollution to this?
Stan 24v 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Depends what you use for the blue. Ive used film and its not very bright, but these LEDs may be a fair bit brighter??
CoxyLaad 0 Posted December 15, 2005 as far as I am aware you are not to use films over the top of LEDS to change there colour, the emit light of a very specific wavelength, which means that putting a filter over them just makes them go dull. I was told this after I had pissed about with my rear light on my bike using white leds with the red lense, it just went some shitty dull pink colour. After I fitted red leds it was incredibly bright
ZippyVR6 0 Posted December 15, 2005 But LEDs are a directional light source so you end up with 3 bright patches rather than one glow. Supposedly roughing up the bulb with some fine sandpaper diffuses the light. Has anyone got these installed and are happy with the brightness?
gibber 0 Posted December 16, 2005 I got some 4500 red leds and have to resister them lots they where way to bright in the switches, 4k7 resiters I think, but they are still a touch too bright
Stan 24v 0 Posted December 16, 2005 The film I have is over the original bulbs, not LEDs. You can actually get wide angled LEDs too, or as above sand them a little. Apparently you can also put some clear setting glue on the tops of them to dispurse the light??
gibber 0 Posted December 16, 2005 I didnt find the light pattern to be a problem at all as long as you got the light square in the middle!

Stan 24v 0 Posted December 16, 2005 He'll put a Corrado pack together for us, but I need to know the size of the top 3 bulbs first.
