ardandy 0 Posted December 14, 2005 I currently own a 306 GTI6, group 16. I got a quote from direct line just to see what I'm looking at for when I buy my VR and its cheaper for me to get the VR than it is the GTI6??? A few random quotes I got. 3 yrs NCB, 3 points. Fiesta 1.25 Reg - Grp5 = £580 306 GTI6 - Grp16 = £685 Corrado VR6 - Grp18 = £635 Primera GT (old) - Grp11 = £1000 What the hell is going on! Are the ins people just rolling dice to come op with these figures?????? :confused4:

was8v 0 Posted December 14, 2005 Try the specialists offering Corrado Club discounts too mate. I was quoted £620 fully comp on a VR6 and I'm only 24 with 2 years ncb. In the end I paid £438 TPFT to Adrian Flux, £200 less than the TPFT reneal quote for my previous 8V golf GTI by elephant.
CazzaVR 0 Posted December 14, 2005 Each insurer seems to have different criteria. My premium increased when I changed my G60 for a 1.6 Civic VTI. The G60 is usually regarded as gp 17 and the VTI 15. In fact, the VTI cost more to insure than any of my C's, which includes 2 VRs and a heavily modded 2.0 16v.
dazzyvr6 0 Posted December 14, 2005 the vr6 is g18 and the storm g19,maybe they class the pug as a higher risk due to younger people owning them?
vr6storm 0 Posted December 14, 2005 it'll all be down to the loading on them as opposed to the insurance group.........i remember a few years back getting a quote on a 924 that was half the price of a quote i got for a renault 5 turbo even tho the 924 was 5 or 6 groups higher
