racingswamp46 0 Posted December 19, 2005 My vr6 has been playing up for a while now, it has what feels like small power surges when you accelerate! i have changed the plugs and the airfilter and hosing. it has cams fitted so you would expect a power increase at higher revs but this problem comes right from the bottom of the rev range all the way to the redline! can anybody suggest what it could be coz its really starting to bug me?!?! HELP PLEASE
Supercharged 2 Posted December 19, 2005 Sounds sensor related, you need to get it on VAGCOM really...
matth76 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Agree with above... Take it to a VR specialist who will plug your car into VAG COM and diagnose any sensor faults straight away.
racingswamp46 0 Posted December 21, 2005 cheers guys, i have booked it in for full diagnostics and rolling road on thursday, i will let you know the outcome!!
racingswamp46 0 Posted December 23, 2005 turns out the coil pack has a crack in it and needs replacing, along with the leads, and it needs a new cam sensor! about £350 they reckon to fix it! one good thing though it did put out 243bhp on the rolling road! chuffed with that! Trig 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Nice! You should post some pics up in the members gallery, would like to see the beast! :) 40k worth of receipts it ought to be pretty good... does that include petrol?!
racingswamp46 0 Posted December 23, 2005 its well thirsty on petrol! if you type in oettinger in the search part of the website then click the post from vr6220 there are some pics of it there, but this was before i got it and it still has the old rims on it and original number plate! still get the idea though!
