A6 Door Handle Conversion problem with boot and key

At the end of this month i am having the A6 Delocked handles mod done by JMR. My boot key lock has never worked with the normal key and reading all these stories about peeps getting locked out with delocked handles with a flat battery in the cold weather worries me. Can this barrell be taken out and replaced to marry up with the main key? I remember i had some door barrells made up by VW about two years ago

i dont see why a decent lock smith company couldnt do that for you.

i had it done with an e30 bmw a few years back as the key got lost.

all you have to do is inset a hidden terminal somwhere on the car to affix a 9v battery if you main goes flat this is enough power to activte the central locking and small enough to hide anywhere out of site.
