Are shorter ratio gears available for Golf VR6?

Recommended Posts

The final drive will make the car feel more accelerative, especially in 5th at motorway speeds. The 3.39 standard one is way too tall imo.

As Paul says, if you're taking the box apart it makes sense to fit the ATB aswell. I think there's a group buy going on for Peloquin ATBs, so will work out cheaper.

My box was expensive because it was a full day's labour removing and refitting it, rebuilding it, adding the ATB and the 3.68 and also a new clutch. About £1300 in all. I don't bregrudge the spend because it's one of the best bits about my car!

also, having the box totally rebuilt and filling it with quality oil will improve the shifter feel infinitely.
