Critical_Mass 10 Posted January 12, 2006 surely the headlight thing aint for real. Cant fail for headlights if they arent there!!!! Didnt they think about that when coming up with the standards for the MOT!! If they arent there they cant be tested? so it wont fail. Appauling! CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Im a tester and you will fail on no side repeaters. If you drive about without them with no warning to other road users then you will love your insurance company because they can screw you over for not having them fitted when somebody rams into the side of you. The MOT tester can also have his mot licence removed when you said "ive just had it tested !" They are there for a good cause, why remove them for looks when it will be the side of your car that ends up Fu*ked. My rant ...over  surely the headlight thing aint for real. Cant fail for headlights if they arent there!!!! Didnt they think about that when coming up with the standards for the MOT!! If they arent there they cant be tested? so it wont fail. Appauling! If you remove the windscreen, wipers and washers...you can pass it !! Remove all the day lights...you can pass it and advise on only to be driven in the daylight ! and on and on..........stupid ...I know

catch_twotwo 0 Posted January 13, 2006 forgive me for asking... but do you have to see the indicator lenses, or just the light. If it was just the light surely you could locate a high powered LED or 3 under the wheelarch and warn users by having your wheel arch flashing orange ? A bit chav maybe ? but at least it's not blue neons ;)
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted January 13, 2006 You have to see a light emitting from the side visible from the front or rear. Doesn't need to have a lens just blink orange. Just a random glow under your arch wont do,it will look like your side repeater fell inside the wing! Why not put a few small LED's in the wing mirror??
