2.8 ecu on a 2.9 engine?

Recommended Posts

Hey.

When i bougth my corrado few years ago it was fitted with a 2,8 litre vr engine, the original engine had seized... (or something like that.. )

Now, I have a 2,9 ABV waiting to be dropped in, but my ECU is still the 2,8 verson.

What happens when i turn the key first time? will the car run proberly or can i

'hurt' the new engine?

My rado is a '95 VR6 soon back to original tune, hopefully... :!:

When my ECU fried on my VR 2.9 i tried on an 2.8 ecu off same year(non key chipped) and it worked fine.

The only thing was that i used my upgraded chip from my original ECU which is just plug and play.

Hope that helps
