RAC Corrado Review

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

was online and found this rather nice review of the Corrado - prices might be out a wee bit I reckon - or maybe I was just fleeced! Hope this hasn't been mentioned before.

Like the closing comment :-

"This coupe is sadly missed by car enthusiasts everywhere. With Volkswagen still not showing any signs of developing a successor, this car has classic written all over it."

Nice 8)

Yeah.. think they've been reading Parkers, etc for their prices! They always seem to be way off on the Corrado. Great review otherwise though!

You are correct. All the trade guides have slashed valuations on Corrados in the past few months. The mainstream motor trade aren't interested in them any more as they're too old.

However, that doesn't mean that the market value for even late 96N cars is now only £3k (top examples are still changing hands at £5k+). It just means that a main dealer or trader will give you sod-all in trade.

3k would be what their worth on paper,,, doesnt take into account the supply or DEMAND of the particular car...

E.G something like a fiesta could be worth 700 but becuase its soo popular for example it could sell for lots more... there are cars out there also which sell for lot less then their worth as their is no demand for the brand/car...

parkers or RAC doesnt take into account the diversity or demand of the car within the certain season,,, obviously a corrado would be more appreciated during the summer months and could demand a better price/value...

they've never been a mainstream car, and never will be. Price guides will always bee a mile off a collectable or specialist car, dealers just don't see these sort of cars in the same way that enthusiasts do.
