car running rich on the co

hi guys how are we all ive got a prob with my car i have a k reg g60

its running really rich 10% on the co and it fire's flame's when changing gear ive had it look at by a garge they've tested every thing ecu'fuel presure all my wiring lamber sencer etc and ive only just got 200 miles to a tank hope some one can help?

Sounds like it just needs setting up well by a good G60 specialist, not sure where you are based but G-werks is the place to go!

Down south - may be better to take it to Stealth Racing, not G60 specialists but still know more about them that any other garage in the country...

:onfire: my 2lt 16 v does the same mainly on on over run when changing down the box , its cool especially when you got local nobbys sat on your butt in there novas or saxos , soon makes em back off when they think your gona melt there bumpers , still not much help to you though :onfire:

before you take it anywhere, change the blue coolant temperature sender(front of the cyl.head, blue wiring plug), this caused CO's of 12% on my G60, but intermittently.

 

have you got black smoke coming out of the exhaust all of the time? disconnect the lamda sensor wiring plug (back of the cylinder head, airbox side) does it run any better?

 

My bets are on that blue sender, or the lamda sensor itself, how can the garage be sure that the lambda sensor is ok?

there are 2 black cotten braided vacuum hoses that connect to the back of the throttle body, one is for the ECU and the other goes to the carbon cannister, the ECU hose connects to the top outlet, if these are the wrong way round then it causes the ECU to go into 'limp' mode and the side effects being black smoke, high feul consumption and generaly crap running. :wink:

ive change that blue coolant sender lot long ago. And it only kick's black smoke out when it hits the limiter. Ive had them to black cotten braided hoses done ill have a look at them see if there the right way Its good for show boatin but not all the time thanks for your help ill let you know wot it is hopefuly

you can swop the blue and black temp switches around on the plugs to test they are working ok.

Is it down on power?

Yeah and now has miss fire under load

plugs and leads? with my lambda disconnected, mine bogs and pops up through the intake

Yeah so in answer to your question I'm down on power and have now developed miss fire's when trying to accelorate, is this like yours?, what does bog down mean - under power!? if so thats what mine does - someone else has told me to buy a new coil what do you thing flus

when my lambda is plugged in,if i floor it,it just makes lots of noise and doesnt really accelerate hard,so done as daz told me and taped switch shut which makes ecu ignore lambda,anbd then it flys!!!!!!!1
