G60 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Bosch W6DPO is the stock plug yeah $13-15 each (ouch - can replace entire NGK set 4 times for that) Skye Aye but the Bosch one last 4-5 times longer!! exactly :thumb right: and when you pull the plugs every few weeks to check their condition and rich/lean condition of your setup they take quite well to a once-over with a wire-brush and good as new! Banana Man 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Ok you need to get 3/16" th's vacuum hose all sorts of places sell it but it is best to get the overbraided stuff alot of diesels use the 3/16th's hose for things like spill off on the injectors go into your local mtor store or motor factors and ask for it you should be able to get hold of it no problem

Ess Three 0 Posted September 7, 2003 I'm confused. Can anyone explain why the length of vacuum hose to the ECU seems so critical? I just don't get it... Assuming there is no collapsing of the hose to block it under vacuum, no balooning of the hose under pressure, no leaks along it's length and no leaks at the connections, it shouldn't matter what length the hose is. The hose could be 1" long, 30cm long, 1m long or 3 miles long...as long as the hose it suitable and connected properly meeting the criteria above, the pressure within the hose - be it positive pressure or negative pressure - will be constant throughout it's length. OK, with a 3 mile long hose there may be a slight lag in the reading...but the difference between 30cm and 1m...come on! I just don't get it. This isn't rocket science....so can someone please explain to my simple engineering brain why basic physics doesn't seem to apply to VW Corrado vacuum connections? G60JAY 0 Posted September 7, 2003 It sounds to me like the ignition timing is to far advanced so you could try retarding it a little and if not then it might be worth checking the knock sensor. Jason
