johnxl1s 0 Posted September 1, 2003 hi i was trying to replace my gear gaiotr for a new leather one and in the process of removing it i thought that the gear knob turned to come off, i ripped the gear knob, how do i get the old gaitor off do i have to take out the whole lever or what advice appreciated john Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
chrishill 0 Posted September 1, 2003 my (gear) knob just twisted off, dead easy. The gator is attached to the plastic surround around the gearstick (the bit with karrman on it) which should lift up and out, with the knob off you should be able to slide the whole thing out, then replace the gator.
