monVR6 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Hi all - I'm off to AmD for a re-map tomorrow - hoping for some good power gains - I'll let you know how it goes !! In the meantime, I have a bit of a clutch problem. The clutch has always been a bit "juddery" and I've read in the forum that this is quite common ?? - but now the clutch seems to be "sinking" overnight. With a good pump (!!) it seems to be OK and this suggests some sort of leak - has anyone else suffered with this ? Any ideas ? By the way, I got some good suggestions about the handling on my C last time I posted - AmD are going to give me their thoughts too whilst I'm there tomorrow. Cheers all. Supercharged 2 Posted September 1, 2003 Check the slave and master cylinders - they may leak internally at first so is hard to spot
2cc 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Yes, Supercharged is spot on. The inner seals start to leak and you get that sinking feeling. Slave is easier and cheaper to do first (and from my experience more likely)
monVR6 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Thanks to you both - I will get this checked out. By the way - good day at AmD - came away with 213 BHP - it was actually running at 198 before remap !!! I am well pleased !!
Joe M 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Thats a good result, is the car modded other than remap?
2cc 0 Posted September 3, 2003 That's a good result. The same thought is in the back of my mind but there always seems to be something else I need to spend my money on first. Ho hum.
monVR6 0 Posted September 5, 2003 As far as I know the car is standard - AmD didn't say there were any mods when I gleefully asked about the pre-mod 198 !! Just need to sort the clutch and tighten up the handling and I'll be sorted. By the way, the remap was £250 + VAT.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 5, 2003 Thanks to you both - I will get this checked out. By the way - good day at AmD - came away with 213 BHP - it was actually running at 198 before remap !!! I am well pleased !! Nice one, I might get mine done too then as my VR6 is standard (even the filter and exhaust) and it kicked out 200bhp exactly and 193lb/ft torque on Stealth's rollers in march. I'd say it's possibly giving a little more now as I've since replaced the MAF sensor and throttle potentiometer and feels way quicker now. I'd be extremely pleased if I also see 213bhp! Incidentally, the most powerful standard VR6 Stealth have seen was 212bhp. Kev
