Could anybody tell me what MPG I should be getting?

Ive bought a 94 2L 16Valve corrado, I think its a little thirsty for a 2L car, Iam getting 19-20MPG round town but on a run it rises to 28-30MPG, its been well looked atfter with full VAG service history, with just over 100,000 miles on the clock. This is all with a light foot!!

I had a scabby 2L Cavlier for a workhorse with 150000 on the clock and that did much more than the Corrado to the gallon, even with 3 in the car.
