"corrado" is derived from the Spanish verb 'correr', which means to run or to sprint

 

Ah cool :)

 

It's also a not too uncommon Italian name.

From a book I have on the golf and it's variants: VW named their cars after various winds: Scirocco, Vento, Bora and Jetta. VW claimed Golf was a variant on the wind in the Gulf of Mexico...

 

and yeah, corrado wasnt named in this group for some reason....
