Best location to plumb in a boost gauge???

It's time for me to finally fit my my shiny new Autometer boost gauge. I've done a quick search on the best place to plumb this in, and opinions seems to be divided between the pipe at the back of the MFA and off the back of the manifold.

 

Something to note as well - it has come with a plastic pipe, for which I seem to recall from one of the threads that this means it should not be installed off the manifold...

 

Any ideas folks on the definitive best way to do this???

Vince at Stealth simply attached his boost gauge to the intake manifold (between the FPR and the manifold) when he did a boost test on my C back in December. But that gauge only stayed on for the duration of the test runs on the rollers. If yours has a plastic piece, that already may cause a problem from a thermal point of view. The back of the TB may also be too hot. So, I'd say go for the back of the MFA solution.

how about removing the carbon can,and then using the left over pipe from the rubber t? piece off the inlet manifold?

That`s exactly where i connected mine too :-D

 

Not a good idea to put between the FPr and the mainfold because if it breaks or fails in anyway, you will have a lose of fuel pressure not good on engine! :oops:

i T pieced mine in under the dash...no hassle with routing the pipe through the bulkhead then

Thanks guys. So it looks like the carbon can pipe if I can be bothered to fit it through the bulkhead, or off the MFA pipe if not then, as both ways seem popular...
