Corrado G60 and Rallye G60 ...

Recommended Posts

Time for one of my stupid questions, whats the difference beetween the Rallye G60 engine and the Corrado G60 engines.

All i can think of is;

Different CC ? The Corrado is 1781, is the Rallye different ?? Its an IH block instead of a PG right ?? Whats the difference.

Big Front Mount Intercooler and larger Radiator.

Did the Rallye put out more BHP than the Corrado

And just to make it more complicated, what about the Golf G60, is that different to the Corrado and the Rallye again ??

Cheers dudes.

The Rallye G60 is a better engine. The Oil and waterways are different. Head is a different design. It's allround a better and stronger engine I believe!

The rallye chargers are different as well.

Rallyes use 6 port chargers (6 small holes), but they were found to crack due to no material between the ports so the Corrados use 4 large ports instead.

Cheers for replys guys, kind of helps, anyone for anymore ??

Yeah i did here that some Chargers had 6 port diffusers instead of 4, but wasn't the 6 port part of the '92 revision?, meaning the first G60's had the 6 port ??

the different cc of the rallye engine is to fall in to the 2.5 litre class for motor sport blown engines have their cc muliplyed by 1.4 times so the standard g60 cc would be over 2.5 litre
