VAG-COM Error.... What does it mean?????

As title really..... VAG-COM is showing up "internal control module memory error/ too low" Can anyone shed some light as to what this actually means and how to go about fixing it?

Is your car chipped?

 

What is the battery voltage?

 

Did you clear the DTC's and re-scan?

Yea it's chipped, it's an old AMD one, can't remember the voltage, think it was about 13.8, Yea cleared the dtc's it doesn't come back straight away but if you leave it a few days and re scan it's there again.

The ECU is too low. Put some books under it or something ..

(More seriously, it sounds like it's either a failing ECU or the chip itself is failing. Do you have a spare of either (perhaps the original chip)?)
