Strange knocking noise

Got a '94 VR6 - running great except recently I noticed a knocking noise, quite soft, possibly from the rear wheels(?), noticeable at speeds of 30mph and less. If you very very slightly press the brake the noise instantly disapperas and then reappears upon releasing the brake.

 

Any clues?
