Justonge 0 Posted May 4, 2006 I've been driving Golfs for years and am considering swapping for a Corrado and would be grateful of any advice of what to look for etc. I've only driven one and although I liked it it was only a short blast and it felt v.different to the Golf which quite surprised me. I am thinking of going for a late 2l 16v as it should be similar in insurance to my current 16v Golf and am wondering if there are any perticular things I should look out for, other than the usual wear and tear. For example, the gearbox on the one I drove felt quite notchy - more so than the Golf. Is this because it has a more sporty, shorter linkage or is there a problem with Corrado boxes I should be looking out for. I know the electrics can be a problem but i've never been too worried about high milage in the Golf so should I be on a Corrado? Any advice welcome Justonge
gaz the geezer 0 Posted May 4, 2006 welcome to the forum Justonge, there is a wealth of info on all the corrado`s here at the forum, you can try the search on the navigation bar, i`m sure other members will be along soon to point you in the right direction, generally speaking, most of the corrado`s problems are usually of a mechanical nature which is to be expected on a car that is 10 + years old, rust isnt a particular problem due to the high level of rustproofing and decent quality metal used
