CazzaVR 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Discovered that the callipers on my new C have totally had it :( Figure I might as well go for some MKIV callipers. Where is the best place to get them? GSF seem cheapest. I'm also ordering the MKII-MKIV rear brake line conversion kit from Goodridge. Is this correct? Cheers :)

Supercharged 2 Posted May 14, 2006 Andy - wait for inters if you can as I bought both calipers (no exchange) and the hoses for £120 2 years ago... your lucky to get change from £200 if you buy all the bits at full price from GSF or C&R which seem to be the best places fo them... CazzaVR 0 Posted May 14, 2006 Cheers Steve- good idea. Is there any way to unseize them? One of them was new in Feb, so shouldn't have seized already.
john_wintle 0 Posted May 15, 2006 If one was new in feb, then it souinds ike a warranty claim to me. If they seize then that should only be after a good number of years. The Mk4 calipers (alloy ones) are not without their problems either, as the alloy get affected by road salt quite badly and corrode up, sometimes necessitating an even earlier caliper change. CazzaVR 0 Posted May 15, 2006 John, yeh, reckon I could claim for it. Trouble is, the garage is down in Bournemouth (where the previous owner lived), and I'm 2 and a half hours away near Bristol :(
